Just because she has chosen you (a male) to spend her life with doesn’t mean she now only finds men attractive. She is with you because she loves you and wants to spend the rest of her life with you. Her bisexuality has nothing to do with this.
7. She Is Not Greedy
Many bisexual people are regrettably labeled as greedy by heterosexual people. This is a ludicrous statement that shows just how uneducated some people are when it comes to gender and sexuality. Just because they are attracted to both sexes doesn’t mean bisexual people are going to be out there fucking everyone they come across. Like anyone else, they want a partner who they can love and respect. It is just that instead of that person being of the same sex, they may be the opposite.
8. It Doesn’t Mean She Wants a Threesome
Many men who begin a relationship with a bisexual woman believe that their chances for a threesome will improve. This is not necessarily the case. There is a small chance she might be into this sexual practice, and if she is, it is because she likes threesomes. It has nothing to do with being bisexual. While you are probably thinking about finding some hot chick to join you, if she is keen, your partner might want another dude. Just think about that for a minute.
Remember she is with you because of who you are and not your gender. Experiencing a threesome is probably the last thing on her mind. You should be more worried about pleasing her first.
9. She Can Have a Relationship With Either Sex
Yes, she can have a functioning and loving relationship with someone of the opposite or same-sex. If she is with a lesbian woman but leaves her for a straight male, this has nothing to do with her bisexuality. She hasn’t suddenly become straight or ‘greedy.’ She has left her previous relationship due to her girlfriend and is with her new partner because of who they are. Gender and sexuality have nothing to do with it. Like almost everyone in the world, she just wants to find someone who treats her with respect and with who she can form a connection.
10. Not All Women Are Bisexual
There is a common misconception that straight women are also bisexual. This is not correct. This stems from the fact that many men think a woman who watches lesbian porn must be bisexual. Sorry to tell you fellas but this is more incorrect information floating around the internet. A woman can watch lesbian porn and be aroused without actually being a lesbian. This is backed up by a study that found straight women can be turned on when watching erotic videos of two women getting it on. But just because a straight woman can be aroused by lesbian porn doesn’t mean she wants to go through with being with another woman. Assuming that all women are bisexual is a stupid view to have and makes you look like an idiot who really has no clue about women.
11. There Is No Percentage of How Straight or Lesbian She Is
This is another one to file under the ‘what the fuck?’ category. Some people seem to want to quantify how straight or gay a bisexual person is using percentages. Your partner is 60% straight and 40% lesbian. This is ridiculous. You can’t put a number on it. She can be whatever she wants. Bisexual, pansexual, demisexual, whatever she wants. As long as she is happy with who she is and loves you with all her heart it doesn’t matter whether she is into men, women, or both.
12. She May Be Afraid To Tell You
There could be a variety of reasons why (some listed above) she is afraid to tell you she is bisexual. She may think you believe some of the common misconceptions about bisexual people or think she will have to explain her whole life story to you. Even worse, she might think you will make fun of her or not take her seriously. It can be a hard thing to come out to your partner, so if she does, don’t be a dick about it. Show her the same support and care you alays have. Her being bisexual doesn’t change your relationship or who she is.
13. It’s Not About You
You might find yourself a little surprised and overwhelmed by the revelation that she is bisexual. This could especially be the case if she doesn’t tell you from the get-go. It is ok to feel this way. But don’t spend too much time dwelling on it. You are with your girlfriend because she makes you laugh, cares for you, is kind, or any other number of reasons. Her being bisexual doesn’t change this. She is still the same person you fell in love with. Your role is to support her and make sure she knows you are fine with her sexuality and that it changes nothing. It’s not always about you kiddo.
14. She Can Be Attracted To Non-Binary, Gender Fluid, Or Trans Individuals
Crazy as it might sound, she can also be attracted to people who don’t identify as cisgender. She can be attracted to a whole range of people who aren’t cis, such as nono-binary or trans individuals. While most people who identify this way prefer to be described as pansexual or queer as it is a more inclusive term, they can also be characterized as bisexual. Being bi means you are attracted to all genders. Depending on your experiences with the LGBTQIA+ community, a lot of this might be new to you, and words such as gender fluid might not make sense. That is totally cool. Talk with your partner about this and don’t be afraid to ask her questions. Just make sure you do so in a kind and caring manner, respecting her choices.
15. She’s Not More Into One Gender Than the Other
If your partner is bisexual and you are the only man she has ever dated, you might think she is more into women than you. This is not the case. She doesn’t like one more than the other. It may be that she has only ever dated women because that’s the way her life worked out. If your last two girlfriends were blonde and now you are dating a brunette, does that mean you are more into blondes than brunettes? She has just had more experience dating one gender over the other. It is no big deal.
16. You Can’t Turn Her
She is bisexual by choice and you can’t change that. Don’t even think about it. She is with you for a reason. She is obviously attracted to you but also digs who you are as a person, and that is all that counts. It doesn’t matter if she is as attracted to both sexes as she is with you.
17. Don’t Be Too Concerned About Her Previous Partners
If you find out your girlfriend dated a bunch of women before you it is sure to spark your interest. This is fine and there is nothing wrong with talking about past relationships. It is a good way to understand someone’s past and what they have been through. But don’t get hung up on it. Don’t try and compare yourself to her exes, especially if they were female. It might be a little strange to think she dated the same sex before you, but none of that matters now as she is with you.
18. Do What You Can To Be An Ally
There is no better way to show your support than by being an ally to your girlfriend and the entire LGBTQIA+ community. Communicate with her constantly and be open to learning more about her bisexuality and the LGBTQIA+ community in general. If she sees you are making an effort to be involved in understanding her bisexuality it will form a greater bond between you both and she will love and respect you even more. Do all you can to support her and be sure to let her know being bi has no impact on your relationship.
