The Air Jordan XI (or 11) is one of the most iconic sneakers of all time. The shoe made its debut on the feet of Michael Jordan during his comeback in 1995 and sent sneakerheads into meltdown. 25 years later and Nike are celebrating this iconic Jordan with a self-lacing version.

This new take on the Air Jordan 11 uses Nike’s Adapt power lacing technology. It enables you to tighten or loosen the laces via an App. For those not as technologically advanced, there are buttons on the shoes that do the same thing.

Looking fairly similar to the original design, Nike has made a few tweaks to the sneaker. There’s an upper translucent layer that covers the lace eyelet strips. The classic rope laces have been replaced with thin cords that are part of the Adapt tech. Completing the sneaker is a translucent sole and a colorway based on designer Tinker Hatfield’s original sketches.

Made from genuine leather and lightweight textile and carbon fiber, the Jordan 11 is a mix of the past and the future. The cool looking sneaker also comes with a charging pad and plug.

Sneaker fans will no doubt be impressed with the overall look of the Air Jordan 11 Adapt. It as a futuristic vibe without taking away from the authenticity of the Jordan brand.

If you’re after a pair you better get in quick, with the kicks officially going on sale today for $500 via Nike.
