As COVID-19 runs amok across the world, one of the businesses suffering the most are gyms. Many have been forced to close or can only allow a small number of people in. This has led to everyday folk working out from home. The problem with this is most people don’t have the right equipment or setup. That’s all about to change with the release of the Pivot Bed.
The brainchild of tech start-up entrepreneur Colin Montgomery, the Pivot Bed is a bed that transforms into a home gym. Available in both double and king size, the Pivot bed folds up and down using two gas struts. When the bed is lifted up, the top leg folds out to reveal a 2.3 metre high bar. This can be used for pull-ups and other simple exercises. The more adventures can attach a punching bag or other gym related equipment. There’s also a set of dips bars and room to attach your tablet or phone. This allows you to follow workout videos online without any fuss.
There’s also the option of adding a power rack so you can do more traditional exercises. If you have your own set of dumbells or other small gym equipment fear not, as there’s plenty of storage space underneath the bed.
There are four different types of Pivot Bed available. Each is made from S366 grade steel and accompanied by a safety certification from an independent testing lab in the UK. The pull-up and dip bars can support more than 286 pounds and the power rack more than 1,000 pounds.
Beginning life as a Kickstarter project, the Pivot Bed is now available for pre-order via Pivot Fitness.
