Early this year the world’s first sky pool opened in London, now we have the world’s deepest pool. Plunging to a depth of over 196 feet, Deep Dive Dubai has been officially certified by the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s deepest pool for diving. Located in the Nad Al Sheba neighborhood, the monstrous pool holds 14 million liters of warm water and is inspired by the United Arab Emirates’ rich pearl-diving heritage of the past. The equivalent of six Olympic-sized swimming pools, Deep Dive Dubai is an underwater oasis with several different areas to explore.
The sunken city contains an apartment, garage, and arcade area to explore, with a working foosball table also on offer for those who want to play a bit of one on one with their dive partner. Deep Dive Dubai claims it takes several dives to discover everything the pool has to offer, with a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system adding to the underwater atmosphere. The pool also doubles as a film studio – the largest of its kind in the UEA – and contains an editing suite at a nearby facility. Freediving and scuba experiences are offered along with beginner courses, while 56 cameras have been installed throughout the pool to keep divers safe. There’s even a 12 person hyperbaric chamber in case of an emergency.
