It all started in 1996 with “The Shorty” shirt. Soft, lightweight, stretchy and skin-tight, The Shorty set Under Armour at centerstage, and by 1997 the company was well on its way to sealing its legacy amongst athletes and the active elite. With 1999 seeing the Under Armour team sign a contract to have their apparel featured in the Hollywood blockbuster Any Given Sunday, starring Al Pacino and Jamie Foxx, and the following year scoring them their first print ad in ESPN magazine, the decades following have been nothing short of an enduring triumph. Becoming the supplier for the national Hockey League, with additional agreements set in place with Major League Baseball and USA Baseball, and as well as their University of Maryland, was just the beginning. Whether it’s achieving a superior-to-cotton fabric like their Charged CottonCharged Cotton, building the world’s largest digital wellness and fitness community, or continuing to produce high-performing active and underwear to leave competitors in the dust, Under Armour has never stopped striving to surpass their own expectations. What began as an ingenious piece of activewear apparel would eventually grow into a global phenomenon, with billions of dollars worth of contracts and partnerships to secure their reputation. The company has never forgotten their roots, nor their initial purpose, and their now famous #wewill hashtag has come to represent the collective spirit of support and ongoing innovation under which the Under Armour name thrives. Men’s Under Armour Valsetz RTS Tactical Boot Review

The Under Armour Valsetz RTS 1.5 tactical boot provides durability and the toughness of a boot, but it feels like you are wearing a running shoe. If you are accustomed to heavy boots, you are in for a surprise. This lightweight pair feels like you are wearing nothing. It features a synthetic leather and textile upper. The 7-inch high boot also features the ClutchFit ankle support system that fits the contour of your ankle. It supports the ankle region which helps you in rough terrain and work situations. Your toes stay protected with the TPU toe cap. The boots offer a number of protective items like welded PU film surrounding the boot’s perimeter to add abrasion resistance. On the inside, you’ll find an anti-microbial Ortholite sock liner that’s molded to the shoe. The Valsetz also focuses on mid-foot support. It contains an Ultralight Micro G EVA midsole and TPU shank. That provides comfort plus the right rigidity for all-terrains. The outsole gives great traction in all conditions – dirt, mud, snow, ice, sidewalks, even the kitchen floor right after it is mopped. This boot gives you a light but tough shoe to wear while working out in the field or hiking on the weekends.

Men’s Under Armour Fat Tire GORE-TEX Hiking Boot Review

You probably did not expect to wear a boot that’s the product of a partnership between Michelin and Under Armour, but the tire manufacturer partnered with the workout wear firm to create a 7-inch high work boot that handles dirt, mud, rain, snow and wild weather. Like the fattest mountain bike tire you can imagine, these work right on your feet for a brilliant level of comfort and traction. Though, I wasn’t the only one who was left impressed, in reality, these boots the 2015 “Outside Gear Of The Show” award too. They combine composite textile and foam construction at the foot with waterproof support, so your feet stay comfortable and dry. Constructed of GORE-TEX, this breathable boot still protects you from the wind and other elements. Its cushioned midsole converts and absorbs impacts which makes rock or stone filled terrain more comfortable to walk or hike. You can quickly close your boots with the Boa closures these shoes use instead of ordinary laces. They stay closed better than other options, too. You won’t get abraded or cut wearing these work boots because their welded synthetic overlays protect your feet. The Cupron Anti-Fungal Pro Fibers help keep your feet from smelling bad, plus they kill 99.9 percent of athlete’s foot fungus after it has been in contact with the sock liner for 12 hours. On the shoe’s outside, your steps gain traction from the Michelin Oc outsole compound and the Michelin Wild Gripper outsole. The outsole features a lug pattern that helps your feet grip the ground and ditches debris and mud quickly. Some wearers have mentioned that the boots run a little small, so it’s suggested that you order a half size to a whole size larger than you normally wear. This is especially important if you wear a wide width. The boots come in ten adult men’s sizes – size 8 through 12 with half sizes and size 14. While most wearers find them very comfortable, some noted that those who walk a great deal each day for work, seven or eight miles, have the soles wear out in three or so months. Others have complimented their extreme grip in the wettest conditions. Many wearers reported having lifelong foot problems but enjoying these boots since they helped them with foot comfort. Deer hunters for instance, complained about the squeak of the shoes which was loud enough to scare away game that was 50 yards away, in one case. This is caused by leather rubbing. While the Under Armour Fat Tire GORE-TEX Hiking Boot is technically labeled a hiking boot, I’ve found it to have numerous hunter-friendly features.
